Desire? Desire! (Pillow Fort)

'Desire? Desire!' is a work in progress show at the Royal College of Art.

Pillow Fort is an instillation piece and video (30 seconds) exploring masking, femininity, and being transgender. Auditory and visual distortion within intimate settings expose feelings about sensuality and being desirable within liminal spaces. Chiu’s own identity as a trans-masc person shapes his approach to this work. Throughout his transition, he asks himself: ‘at what point can I stop weaponizing my femininity?’
